Farnaz Farahi at Didacta

Friday, March 14, 2025, from 9:30 AM, the S10 Seminar Room of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence will host an event of great cultural and pedagogical significance: the presentation of the book “Iran, Social Reality and Women’s Issue: Pedagogical Models and Autobiographical Insights” by Farnaz Farahi, winner of the 2025 Italian Pedagogy Award of the Italian Society of Pedagogy (S.I.PED.).

The author, a pedagogue and member of CREDDI at eCampus University, intertwines personal memory and historical analysis to recount the female condition and the educational system in Iran. From her childhood lived during the Islamic Revolution to her emigration to Italy, the book addresses crucial themes such as the veil, educational models, and the role of women in Iranian society, also making use of direct testimonies.

The event will be introduced by Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region, and will feature an intervention by Farnaz Farahi herself. The book proposes a female pedagogical reflection, deconstructing stereotypes and offering valuable insights for intercultural and gender education.

Participation is free, but reservation is required on the Didacta Italia website.
